Have a traditional narrowboat holiday on the Thames. Our boat hire location also allows access to The Kennett and Avon and Oxford canals so we can offer canal holidays too.
Your narrowboat holiday will start and finish at Sutton Courtney, near Abingdon, South Oxfordshire, a beautiful part of the countryside with some great historic towns along the way. Whether you're an experienced boater or complete novice, you will be walked through everything you need to have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable narrowboat holiday.
On this quiet part of the river, training is given on handling, navigation rules and etiquette, locks, boat safety and boat facilities.

Safety
Our boat strictly adheres to the Boat Safety Scheme for hire boats which are some of the strictest in the world. Included are life jackets. We know that a happy holiday means safety first and foremost! Boats are fitted with CO2 alarms, smoke alarms, fire blankets and life buoys. Full guidance is given on safe boat handling. One of our staff are on call 24/7 for emergencies.
Training and Guidance
Full training is given on safe boat piloting, navigation, mooring options, general boat safety advice, lock operation and etiquette. Suitable for beginners or more experienced boaters, we'll make sure you have the holiday you deserve.
Insurance
Your holiday is fully insured for you and your boat complying with the strict UK laws regarding boating holidays.
What's included.
Included is everything you will need. from the fully equipped kitchen to a TV for any rainy days. Fresh bed linen and towels and some extra blankets so you are cosy.
The boat itself comes fully equipped spare mooring ropes, pins and a full tank of drinking water, a hose in case you need to top, windlasses, a gangplank, lock keys and lifejackets.
Pets On Board
We know that your pet is part of the family too and are happy for you to bring them along.
Just let us know in advance and we can provide an extra cover for the sofa, as well as feeding and water bowls.
